Wow. This is one word to describe this book. From page one, you are hooked into the true story, told by both Cylin and her father, John.

When Cylin was nine, she lived normally with her two brothers and parents. But, unbelievably, this all changed overnight. Why? Well, John, being a police officer, was shot twice in the head, leaving him seriously injured, and his family guarded.

I think that this book is a good read because it is a well written heart- touching story that really makes you think. The chapters alternate between Cylin and John, so you get to read both sides of the story. It does, however, contain some strong language so watch out!

The Whole Business with Kiffo and the Pitbull

This book is about a girl called Calma Harrison, her friend Jaryd Kiffing (Kiffo), and a new teacher called Miss Payne (The Pit Bull).
When a new teacher teaches Calma's English class, both her and Kiffo realise she is EVIL. This story is about Kiffo and Calma's attempt to expose the teacher for who she really is.

One of my favourite parts in the book is when Kiffo insists he explores her house, resulting in Calma embarrassing herself to try and warn Kiffo to get out.

This book has lots of humour in it, from talking to fridges/Mothers to telling Shakespeare he has a bad attitude. I would say that this is a must read for all teens out there that want a good summer read.
